The city is full of holes. The visible ones and the invisible ones, the recent ones and the old ones. Amidst an apparition, a chase and an encounter, someone tries to find what is missing.

Manuela reports her husband to the federal police and enters the witness protection program. When he goes to prison, she leaves everything and tries to escape to Europe before he is released.

Weaving threads between her native Colombia and adopted Canada, Lina Rodriguez (So Much Tenderness, National Competition FNC 2022) unfolds a sensitive autobiographical narrative in which her intimate immigration experience takes shape through the labyrinth of emotional memory. Through a fragmented structure that defies chronology, the director intertwines her memories with those of her mother, the two women linking their feelings to the upheavals of Colombian history. This experimentally-tinged documentary poem blurs timelines of a past resurfacing in fragments, like a dream—or a nightmare. A work of rare delicacy, between confession and political statement.
